Wilson Creek is located just north of Roberts Creek and Gibsons
on BC's Sunshine Coast. Wilson Creek is a quiet oceanfront neighbourhood
that is included in the District of Sechelt.
To Get Here
To get here take the ferry from West Vancouver's Horseshoe Bay to
the Langdale Terminal. Wilson Creek is 24 km (15 miles) away, about
a 25-minute drive north of Langdale on Hwy 101. Coming from Sechelt,
Wilson Creek is just south of Davis Bay.
Creek Shopping Plaza
The main area of Wilson Creek is located at the traffic lights at
Field Road and Hwy 101. Here you can find the Wilson Creek Shopping
Plaza. The plaza includes an IGA Marketplace, Shell Service Station,
a full-service pharmacy called the Medicine Shoppe, a video rental
store plus a take-out pizza shop.
Also located in the Wilson Creek Shopping plaza is Strait Coffee
Traders, a fair trade coffee supplier to fine restaurants along
the Sunshine Coast. If you like, Strait Coffee has a small sit down
area to enjoy a coffee with freshly baked treats and other food
including daily home-made soup.
Another café that resides in Wilson Creek just across Hwy
101 from the Plaza is the Georgia Strait Café. The café
is housed in one of the original buildings in Wilson Creek which
used to serve as a meeting place for the local loggers. Presently
the Georgia Strait Café now caters to a fun-running, young
crowd offering a wide selection of food and refreshments.
There is also the Sechelt Canadian Tire store located next to the
Wilson Creek Shopping Plaza. If you happen to be short on supplies
or need an RV dump station, this Canadian Tire has a good-sized
parking lot and easy access off Hwy 101.
Creek Fish Hatchery
While you're visiting Wilson Creek take your time and visit the
Chapman Creek Fish Hatchery. Located north on Field Road Chapman
Creek Fish Hatchery has a couple of lookout platforms where you
can watch returning coho and pink salmon spawn. There is also a
short trail that you can walk along to view this natural wonder.
Creek Provincial Park
The nearest provincial park to Wilson Creek is at Roberts
Creek about a five minute drive south from here. Roberts Creek
Provincial Park which has a small campground located on Hwy 101
plus a picnic and beach area situated off Beach Ave. next to the
Creekside Campground and RV Park
For people travelling through on Hwy 101, try staying at the Creekside
Campground and RV Park formerly the Wilson Creek Campground. The
sites are private, tenting is permitted and it is conveniently located
next to the Wilson Creek Shopping Plaza.
