Ladner
Ladner is located at the far south-west corner of the Lower Mainland
situated just west of Surrey on Hwy 17.
Ladner sits across of the south arm of the Fraser River from Richmond.
Corporation
of Delta
Ladner is included and is part of the Corporation of Delta. Delta
is also composed of two other unique distinct urban business districts,
Tsawwassen and North Delta. The Corporation
of Delta's main offices are located in Ladner near Hwy 17 and Ladner
Trunk Road just north of Tsawwassen
and the BC Ferries Terminal.
Main
Centre of Ladner
The main commercial centre of Ladner is also on Ladner Trunk Road
near Elliot Street a little more to the west of McDonald's. Going
north on Elliot Street you can find commercial and retail stores,
Ladner Lions Park and the Delta Historical Museum. Nearby River
Road then starts at the Ladner Yacht Club where you can go across
the channel into Ladner Harbour Park.
Heritage
Buildings
Ladner has some great artifacts of the past displayed at the Delta
Historical Museum. If you also take a stroll through the village,
there are also heritage buildings found at the 1895 McKee House,
now a seniors' activity centre, the 1903 Old Ladner Baptist Church
and the 1890 St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
Ladner
Harbour Park
Once you're at the 5100 block of River Road, you'll come across
the turnoff to Ladner Harbour Park which is situated at 4905 McNeely's
Way. The main features include trails, washrooms, picnic area, kids'
play equipment plus excellent views of the boat and marine traffic
in the Fraser River. A great trail in Ladner Harbour Park that takes
you in a southerly direction to the Wharfinger Office and a wildlife
viewpoint along the Fraser delta is called the Swenson Walk.
South
Arm Marshes Wildlife Area
There is also another good walk starting at the north end of the
Ladner Harbour Park that takes you through the South Arm Marshes
Wildlife Area. The trail takes you through an animal habitat that
is administrated by the BC Ministry of Environment. The trail contains
number of wetlands and marsh areas along Ladners Reach towards the
Captain's Cove Marina.

Recreation Centre
If you have kids, want to exercise or happen to be early for a ferry,
Ladner has a great recreation centre that's visible from Hwy 17
just south of Ladner. The centre is very clean, has an exercise
room, a pool, and sauna. Ladner Recreation Centre is located jut
off Harvest Drive near McDonald's.
Reifel
Bird Sanctuary
Reifel Bird Sanctuary is situated on a small island called Westham
Island located just south off River Road. This protected bird migration
area has a habitat along an estuary situated in the Fraser River
Delta. The trails in Reifel Bird Sanctuary allow you to approach
the plentiful wildlife and wonders of nature.
Uncle
Herbert's Fish and Chips
On your quest for the best fish and chips, you may want to try Uncle
Herbert's Fish and Chips. Conveniently located next to the Ladner
Museum at 4866 Delta Street, Uncle Herbert's has been voted in the
past and has been shown to be in the top five locations for fish
and chips in British Columbia.

Restaurants and Entertainment
Other restaurants and entertainment in Ladner includes - a long
time favourite located next door to the Ladner Public Docks, Sharkey's
Seafood Bar and Grille, on Elliot Street, The Boot & Sombrero,
Canadian Legion Branch 61 and the Ladner Village Pub.
Coming
from Vancouver
To get to Ladner from Vancouver, take
either Granville Street or travel over the Knight Street south into
Richmond. You then follow the signs that
take you towards the BC Ferries terminal at Tsawwassen
along Hwy 99. The highway then travels under the Fraser River through
the George Massey Tunnel into Delta and
the turnoff for Hwy 17 to Ladner and BC Ferries.
USA,
Surrey and New Westminster
If you are coming from the United States border at White
Rock, take Hwy 99 north. From either Surrey
or New Westminster, make your
way to Hwy 99 and travel towards BC Ferries. As well, Ladner begins
near Hwy 77 just south of Ladner Trunk Road (Hwy 10).
BC
Transit
Travelling by BC Transit into Ladner from Vancouver
or BC Ferries, the buses will stop at the Ladner Ring station located
near the McDonalds and the Ladner Recreation Centre. You can then
take a transfer at the loop or have a short stroll into the business
district found at Elliot Street.
Boundary
Bay Airport
You can find a small airport close to Ladner called the Boundary
Bay Airport. Situated east of Ladner on 72nd Street, the Boundary
Bay Airport can be reached by taking Ladner Trunk Road to 72nd Street.
Then make the turn south to Churchill Street, travel until the entrance
point to the tarmac is reached.
